Tech FAQ
Does Wuchang offer FSR support?
Yes, Wuchang will offer FSR 3.1 support.
What should I do if I experience stuttering, crashes, or failure to launch the game after an update?
If you encounter stuttering, crashes, or launch issues after updating, try using the file integrity verification tools provided by Steam, Epic Games Store, or Microsoft Store to repair the game files.
How much disk space is needed for the initial game download?
Due to how the platform handles updates, your computer needs to reserve 60GB of free disk space in advance for the temporary storage of update files.
The game crashes while compiling shaders - what should I do?
If this happens, try the following steps:
Update your graphics driver to the latest version.
Clear your GPU shader cache.
For NVIDIA GPUs:
Method: Clear via NVIDIA Control Panel
Right-click on the desktop → Open NVIDIA Control Panel
Go to Manage 3D Settings → Find Shader Cache Size
Set it to Unlimited or Disabled, then apply the settings.
For AMD GPUs:
Method: Clear via AMD Software
Right-click on the desktop → Open AMD Radeon Settings (Adrenalin Edition)
Go to Settings → Graphics → Reset Shader Cache
3. Confirm to clear
During shader pre-compilation, avoid switching windows or running other operations—wait for the process to complete.
If you are using an Intel CPU, certain models from the 13th or 14th generation may experience crashes, especially during shader compilation. It is recommended to refer to Intel or your motherboard manufacturer's documentation and update to the latest BIOS. If you continue to experience instability, please contact your system manufacturer (OEM/system integrator), Intel customer support (for boxed CPUs), or your point of purchase (for tray CPUs) for further assistance.
I have an RTX GPU, but DLSS Frame Generation is unavailable and greyed out in the game options. What should I do?
If DLSS Frame Generation is not available, please verify with your GPU manufacturer whether your hardware supports this feature and which DLSS version it is compatible with (e.g., DLSS 4 Frame Gen).
For NVIDIA GPUs, check if Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled in Windows (naming may vary by Windows version).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40/50 series support DLSS Frame Generation, which can significantly boost performance. However, on Windows 10, this feature is disabled by default and requires the following steps:
1. Go to Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics Settings
2. Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, then restart your PC
3. Relaunch the game, and you should be able to enable DLSS Frame Generation correctly
If issues persist, update your GPU driver and Windows OS to the latest version, as DLSS Frame Generation requires newer drivers.
Why do I experience screen tearing, low FPS, or stuttering after enabling DLSS Frame Generation?
Try enabling Vertical Sync in the NVIDIA Control Panel to ensure DLSS Frame Generation behaves correctly with the in-game V-sync option enabled.
The game keeps crashing/freezing/going to a black screen - how can I fix it?
Restart your computer and close unnecessary software
Install the latest GPU drivers with a clean installation to clear the shader cache
Use the file integrity tools from Steam/Epic Games Store/Microsoft Store to repair game files. Also, please update Windows, as outdated versions may cause compatibility issues
In Settings → Graphics Details, disable Frame Generation and choose DLSS or TSR for Super-Resolution.
The game is running very slowly or feels choppy - any optimization tips?
In most cases, you can achieve a balance between performance and visual quality by adjusting the presets in Settings → Graphics Settings → Overall Quality. If issues persist, please follow these steps:
For best performance, install the game on a Solid State Drive (SSD). Although the game may run on HDDs or external drives, performance and load times may be significantly impacted.
Update to the latest graphics driver
In most cases, enabling Frame Generation under Settings → Graphics Details → Frame Generation can significantly increase FPS. However, on low-end GPUs or high-resolution monitors, this might cause FPS drops. Test and decide based on your results.
Lower settings for “Oversampling Resolution,” “Global Illumination,” “Shadow Quality,” “Texture Quality,” etc., which greatly impact FPS.
Restart your PC and close unnecessary background applications, especially screen recorders, video players, and antivirus software, which can heavily affect performance.
Update Windows to the latest version.
Restart your computer and close unnecessary background applications. During gameplay, please shut down memory-intensive software such as screen recording tools, video players, and antivirus programs. Insufficient video memory may lead to stuttering, frame drops, or even crashes with an “Out of Video Memory” error. Adjusting the "Texture Quality" setting in the graphics detail options can significantly reduce video memory usage and improve overall performance.
The “Global Illumination,” “Reflection Quality,” and “Volumetric Fog” settings in the graphics detail options can greatly impact frame rate and lighting effects. Choose the appropriate levels based on your system capabilities.
The “Oversampling Resolution” value directly affects visual clarity and frame rate. Setting it too high may cause noticeable input lag. Adjust this value according to your personal preference and performance needs.
How can I resolve screen tearing or high input latency issues?
High refresh rate monitors can deliver better visual performance. If you frequently encounter screen tearing, try enabling V-Sync and disabling Low Latency Mode.
If you experience high input latency, consider enabling both V-Sync and Low Latency Mode.
When using newer model TVs, noticeable input delay may occur, which is often unrelated to the game itself. In such cases, check the TV’s input settings—some TVs offer specific modes or options designed for gaming.
Does the game support HDR?
HDR can be enabled when supported by your monitor hardware. Players can also adjust related HDR settings based on personal preference.
Does the game support Frame Generation?
Frame Generation is supported on NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics cards, while Multi-Frame Generation is supported on RTX 50 series.
I’m on PS5/Xbox - is there a way to make the visuals sharper?
If you're playing on console, we recommend adjusting the Sharpening setting in the Settings menu.
This is a console-specific tuning option that can help you achieve a clearer image.
